CALEB SMIDT

PROFESSIONAL TIE-DOWN ROPER

It takes plenty of dedication and grit to succeed in rodeo and Caleb Smidt has plenty of both. After being named the Texas High School Tie-Down Roping Champion and the National High School Final’s Reserve Champion in 2008, Caleb headed to Wharton Country Junior College (WCJC) where he continued to lead the pack. As a member of the 2010 Pioneers Rodeo Team, Caleb was named All-Around Champion and the Tie-Down Roping Reserve Champion at the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR). From WCJC, Caleb transferred to Sam Houston State University, joining the 2011 CNFR Champion Men’s Team and the 2012 CNFR Reserve Champion Men’s team. Caleb won rodeos all over Texas; his skills in Team Roping and Tie-Down Roping were nearly unmatched. In 2013, Caleb made his first National Finals Rodeo and in 2022 Caleb earned his fourth PRCA World Tie-Down Roping Championship. Caleb and his wife, Brenna, have three children and call Bellville, Texas, home. Caleb lives his life with a clear goal, stating “My objective is to compete competitively in roping events while striving for excellence and Godly character in and out of the arena.”
